The DuoGrid Project is a project meant to create a grid-border-free environment for Second Life Residents. It was started by Smiley Barry, and is currently owned and administrated by Smiley Barry and Vint Falken. While Smiley Barry is a Teen Grid Resident, Vint Falken and the most of the DuoGrid team are Main Grid Residents.

How do we do it?

The purpose of DuoGrid can be (currently) achieved by sharing inworld content between the two grids. While scripts, textures, animations, notecards, clothing items, shapes, and body parts can be somehow shared, objects cannot be fully shared without using LibSecondLife-powered creations, especially the CopyBot. Due to the inability to export objects and re-import without using the CopyBot, it is now the only content type that is disabled for sharing by DuoGrid. Once that protection is broken or "greased enough", sharing objects across grid borders will be enabled to do so via DuoGrid.

How do we share specific types?

NOTE: The following ways to share assets are always done only after approval from the original creator is achieved. In addition, only PG13 assets are shared.

Animations

Animations are a bit harder, as they cannot be exported in any way, and only imported. We do so by asking the developer to send us the animation file by email, and then we re-upload it to the other grid.

Body Parts (Including Shapes)

Body Parts can be shared by exporting the attached textures, copying the numerical settings ("Jacket Length", "Sleeves Length", and so on...), and then reapplying them on the other grid.

Clothing items

Clothing items can be shared, by sharing the textures and numerical settings only. No need for LibSecondLife-powered software here.

Notecards

Although Notecards are often not needed across grids, if necessary, we can simply copy and paste the content across grids.

Objects

As stated above, Object sharing is currently disabled.

Sounds

Animations are a bit harder as well, as they cannot be exported in any way, and only imported. We do so by asking the developer to send us the sound file by email, then re-upload it to the other grid.
